Many have raised questions regarding the effectiveness of both these factors in the modern educational arena. Some believe that the lessons taught in classroom are much more impactful on the minds of students. Owing to the physical presence of the instructor, the students present in the class are able to grasp the lessons quicker. Whereas some argue that online learning can bring a wide array of benefits than conventional classroom learning.

Modern day researchers have asserted the fact that there cannot be any effective and brilliant communicative tool than the Internet. Distance education involves a good lot of interaction among faculty, classmates and even administrators. Class lectures moreover can be delivered successfully with the help of online audio, video and even graphics. The technology is so flexible that students can gain immediate access to notes and lectures. They can even click on links and open external sites for gaining knowledge. So, there is no need to visit libraries and waste time reading a single book for hours.

They argue that the traditional institutions do not stand as ideal platforms for the working professionals. They opine that the majority of these institutions are filled with tenured professors who draw huge salaries and hardly give any effort to impart knowledge to students. In fact, some of the faculties believe that physical tortures are the best ways to educate students.

In the year 1998, Gary Locke, the Governor of Washington declared that the online courses will create such a huge impact in the long-run that students will not have to run to public university faculties to hear lectures. On the other hand, critics fear the academic freedom enjoyed by students in case of distance learning. Therefore, students and all those who are willing to enroll in online courses must be disciplined and motivated. This is indeed a crucial criterion for all distance learners since virtual classrooms are devoid of supervision and encouragements by instructors.

Therefore, researches should be done correctly for each and every aspect while choosing the right university for distance learning. Well, there are predictions that the amalgamation of e-commerce and higher studies will fetch plenty of career aspirants from diverse corners of the globe. Distance learning saved my son from dropping out of high school. Not because he was incapable of learning, because he learned too fast for the public education system. His last year of brick and mortar high school he got the highest grade on his biology final and flunked the class because he wouldn't do the homework (because he already knew the material and kept asking to be tested out). Once we enrolled in a virtual high school, he was able to test out of those subjects he already knew, and concentrate on those he didn't. He's now in a private university and thriving.

Yes, I agree with you. While internet has changed the way you live, most of it is for a good cause. One good advancement in the education sector is the availability of every course online. You can now learn everything from the comfort of your home and at your own designed hours. This way there is no pressure on the student and can enhance his skills big time.
