Ad Revenue is one of the biggest revenue generating resources online. Making money through video blogging is an attractive concept as people these days create and share so many videos. And why not? Videos are the best medium to explain yourself. Isn't it?

Well, the creators of VideofyMe identified this fact in April, 2009 and came up with a free blog video service that lets you earn money through ads inserted in every video you publish. Creating, publishing and sharing the videos is extremely simple; can be done via web or VideofyMe iphone app.

VideofyMe is Sweden-based venture, set up by Oskar and Robert. It is being used by more than 45,000 blogs now and has expanded its reach worldwide. We have one of its founders, Oskar with us to tell us more about VideofyMe. Catch our interview with him below with a demonstrating video:

Oskar, let's start with a brief introduction of yours.

Hi, I'm one of the founders of VideofyMe. I have a background in advertising and design and have worked with user interface design for more than 10 years, mainly with big websites and online campaigns. I have a big interest in filmmaking as well as internet concepts so creating a company that combines the two is a perfect fit for me.

Tell us about your great website 'VideofyMe'. What is it all about?

VideofyMe is all about empowering social media talents and giving them the tools they need to create and publish video on their blog, Facebook and Twitter while giving them money for every ad view they get. The goal is to create the easiest to use video service for blogs in the world and give the content creators money for making the content. Make it worth it and giving small publishers the ability to make money from their first video views.

How did you come up with the idea of creating 'VideofyMe'? Do you have any story to share?

Robert and I started out by working with a video idea focused on content creation. We created over a hundred short episodes and put them on a website called Dayrobber. We sold the ads and shared the ad revenue with the people participating. There was no smart technology involved but a simple solution to put a video on a site with an ad in front. Very simple.

It didn't quite work out as we planned though but what did work was when we made a short interview with the founders of The Pirate Bay and syndicated it through Torrentfreak. A blog about torrents. So we were thinking; Hmmm, maybe that's how we should do it. Work with selected blogs who have lots of traffic but let them create the content and we would focus on helping them with the tools they need and make sure the ads get shown. So that's what we did and that's what became VideofyMe. It might sound obvious when you think about it but it wasn't then.

How 'VideofyMe' is different from other video blogging platforms?

A lot of bloggers use Youtube or Vimeo on their blog. Or maybe they use Videopress or Longtail video. They all are good in their way. What we try to achieve and what makes VideofyMe special is first; We pay you good money! Second; It's really, really easy to use. Also we give you special tools like a Wordpress plugin, Mobile apps and beautiful widgets for your blog. So its not just one thing, I think its the combination of all this that makes VideofyMe special.

It's now more that 2 years since you started. What was the breakthrough point for 'VideofyMe'?

The real big breakthrough has yet to come but I think when we passed more than 100,000 video views on our small home market that was a breakthrough. Also when we first payed a user $7,000 for one months video making that was awesome. The latest breakthrough is that we have started to work with international blogs and it's really great to see that growing. Very fun and lots of great content coming through.

What are your dreams/vision for 'VideofyMe'?

The vision is to become the video platform of choice for social media talents who wants to monetize their content. Also I have a dream of VideofyMe becoming the video version of Tumblr. We'll see about that. Tumblr is growing really fast.

What message do you have for our readers?

Don't give up on your ideas and do what you believe is right. Let yourself be naive sometimes. If I had known how much work it is to succeed in creating a successful global startup when I started I don't know if I would have done it. But in the end I'm working with something I love doing and that means a lot. Hopefully you can use VideofyMe for something you love doing.
