Conducting surveys and collecting feedback from the targeted segments is an important aspect of marketing, it also forms the basis of the following marketing campaign. In this context, Qidiq can be of a great help. Qidiq, an Ottawa based start-up, lets you send questions to your potentials via e-mail, web and even a mobile device. Qidiq makes easy to collect feedback and analyze it using their advanced statistic tools.

"We send your email, they tap their answer, you get your response. It literally could not be any simpler" is how Qidiq likes to put it.

We have one of its co-founders, Jon Abrams with us tell us more about this incredibly simple-to-use start-up. Here we go:

Jon, let's start with a brief introduction of yours.

My name is Jon Abrams and I'm a computer engineer from Ottawa, Canada. My co-founder is Elan Dubrofsky, a computer scientist, also from Ottawa.

Tell us about the fascinating concept 'Qidiq' uses.

Feedback is critical for any business but surveys typically get really low response rates. The reason for this is that people just don't have the time.

Qidiq allows you to send feedback questions via email that can be answered with a single click. Everyone has the time to click a single link in an email.

Traditional email surveys get 5-10%. We've found that qidiq response rates are typically between 50% and 70%!

Would you like to share how Qidiq works?

Qidiq is quite simple. You just create a feedback group, import the email addresses of your customers, then ask a question. We send out the emails for you to everyone in the group. There are of course plenty of advanced features that allow you to customize the look of the email and more.

How is it different from other Online Survey sites?

Qidiq is the only feedback tool that lets you send email questions that can be answered with only a single click. Our response rates are unmatched in the industry!

If you have to list 3 advantages/top features of Qidiq, what would they be?

- Unmatched response rates

- You can gather feedback over time. Traditional surveys can only be asked once in a while. Since people don't mind answer qidiq questions, they can be sent out on a continuous basis!

- Qidiq is more engaging that typical surveys. After answering, people can immediately see the results (updated in real-time), and comment. Each question starts a dialog. It's true customer engagement.

How did you come up with Qidiq? We would love to know about its inception.

-Elan and I are podcasters and wanted a tool that would let us hear feedback from our listeners. We tried asking them for emails and tried surveys but nothing worked. qidiq has allowed us to ask our listeners over 40 questions over just the past few months, that would not have been possible any other way!

Tell us about your pre-launch experience. What was the major difficulty that you faced?

At first, it was quite difficult getting through corporate spam filters. Over time, though, our server reputation improved and now we almost never get blocked.

Now that Qidiq is up and running, what is the biggest challenge?

By far our biggest challenge is getting people to think differently about feedback. Even though surveys suck, people do them anyways since it's what they're used to.

What kind of reception has 'Qidiq' received so far?

The people that have tried using Qidiq love it. We often find that people don't believe us when we quote them such high response rates, but once they use it with a large enough group, they become believers!

What are your dreams/vision for 'Qidiq' as a whole?

Our goal is to make feedback seamless. Feedback is critical for modern businesses but providing it is a real nuisance.

Since you've recently started, aspiring entrepreneurs can look up to you for the best advice. What message do you have for them?

Don't be shy. Talk about your product/idea with as many people as possible.

Jon, thank you for the interview. We wish you all the best with Qidiq's success!
