TabJuice is a FREE application that adds a shopping cart to a business's Facebook fan page. Purchasing products directly through Facebook is a growing trend among small and big business alike and TabJuice allows our subscribers to sell and market their products or services through a custom designed storefront without ever leaving the social networking platform.


Tell us about the fascinating concept TabJuice uses. 

Our concept for TabJuice was very focused - to provide the most customize and feature rich shopping cart solution on the market while keeping the functionality and administrative capabilities simple, intuitive and user friendly.


What compelled you to develop an application like TabJuice?

There were many reasons why Flank Digital developed TabJuice but one that stands out is a shift in the way both businesses and consumers are engaging each other. Social media has long been a part of a businesses marketing plan yet only recently have those businesses started to look for direct ways to monetize their fan base - enter social commerce. TabJuice, as well as our competitors, have identified this as a growing trend with steep implications and purchasing/selling through social networks such as Facebook provide tangible benefits to both the business and the consumer. To a business engaging a consumer is only half the battle - the other half is recouping some of the investment spent on generating that engagement.


We're aware TabJuice has many great features. What would you say are your Top Three Features & Advantages over other solutions? 

Top Three Advantages would be: TabJuice is FREE w/ no additional fees or commissions on sales. It's also very Easy to Use & Manage  and we are focused on providing great Customer Service and user friendly support.

Top Three Features would be: Customize Branding & Functionality / Unlimited Product Uploads / Advanced Business & Social Analytics.






















Some other social commerce solutions are already providing this option for Facebook. How does TabJuice differ from the competition?

We have many differentiating features. However, I would have to say that our app can be used by any size business as well as any level of user. You don't have to be a Fortune 500 company or an IT specialist to use this application or take advantage of the features TabJuice offers - a common misconception today among people looking for a storefront solution. TabJuice packs in the features and is intended for any size business. We feel that we are setting our subscribers up for success and this solution will accommodate what they are looking for in a Facebook storefront.


What kind reception has TabJuice had so far?

Since we released in June 2011 we've had an overwhelmingly positive reception. As a business we accept feedback whether good or bad and we've heard from a number of subscribers who are very happy with what we offer. We've also heard from subscribers who want more or have questions and have been actively working to accommodate them. There has also interest from the eCommerce and social media communities for our staff to get involved in speaking and other industry and trade show opportunities. In the end we love customer feedback and respond accordingly but being recognized by your peers this early out of the gate is a great indication of where we are headed.


Share with us your pre-launch experience. What was the major difficulty that you faced?

Pre-launch was filled with as much anticipation as it was anxiety. We developed TabJuice over the course of a year and the app always had 110% of our focus. A major difficulty faced was making sure we had an app that was devoid of problems and bugs while still achieving the list of all the features we wanted to provide to our subscribers. Any developer can tell you that scoping a plan combining both form and function can be a tall order. It was no different with TabJuice and in the end we came out on top with a solution that was as robust as it was reliable.


Now that TabJuice is available to the public what is your company's biggest challenge?

Good question - any start-up will have many and if I am being cliche - we view all of our challenges as opportunities. But if we had to pick one it would be in keeping up with feature requests. We have built a very comprehensive application with features for everyone. However, our application seems to spark a sense of ingenuity in our subscribers as they are constantly emailing us with ideas and additional ways to potentially use the application. It's a great opportunity for us - to be able to utilize the flexibility of this app to give our clients what they want and not hold them to something that we "think they want".


Share with our readers your fondest memory with TabJuice.

There are so many I cannot choose just one! It is always interesting day to day working in a start-up environment and the TabJuice team is great to work with and are great at what they do. We're also working on developing some great partnerships and cannot wait to work together with these groups as well as we move forward.


What is your vision for TabJuice?

Our vision for TabJuice, the application, is that it becomes a preferred social commerce solution for some of the 9,000,000 businesses actively selling to and engaging their fan base through Facebook.

Our vision for TabJuice as a business overall - that we are viewed as not only a relevant app and solution in the social commerce market but that we encourage, motivate, educate and entice both business owners and consumers in adopting a new way to shop socially. What advice would you give to aspiring online merchants?

One thing businesses engaged in selling online in any capacity may not realize is that it IS NOT an "If you build it they will come." environment. It is not enough simply to rank high in Google. A business owner or manager must have marketing plan in place to drive potential consumers to their products or services and then provide an easy opportunity to convert that consumer into a sale. Keeping this in mind will avoid frustration and increase your chances of success.
