Few days back we'd shared details about an interesting survey for Semi-Local businesses conducted by Firepole Marketing. A survey for businesses that not only have local customers but also leverage the power of internet and other technologies to reach out to customers in far away areas.

During this survey, business owners who have diversified their businesses and operate both locally and remotely were invited to participate. Also those who intend to step into semi-local business gave in their inputs and we are glad to share that the results are finally out and here are few details:

  • Out of 153 people surveyed, 107 of them were already Semi-Local and 46 aspire to step into it. This means that a huge proportion of business owners are expanding their horizon, and with eCommerce making the world smaller, it only seems intelligent to make the most of all those productive online resources at your disposal.
  • It was also interesting to see that 50% of semi-local business owners are into B2B services, while 25% are into B2C services. Only 16% of them consists of businesses that sell B2C products, while 8% sell B2B products.
  • 33.3% of business owners have 2 business lines or income sources, while a small percentage (9.7%) have more than 5.
  • It is nice to know that 63% of established semi-local business owners and 43% of aspiring semi-local business owners, did not need any professional help in order to become semi-local. In fact 58% of them got all the information they needed for free.
  • 42.9% respondents invested less than $500 to achieve Semi-local status.
  • Here are five most common advantages of becoming semi-local:
-Increased sales and more profits
-A whole new world at your disposal.
-Flexibility, freedom and more valuable time.
-Credibility and recognition as an 'expert'.
-Confidence.
