Fong Qi Wei is a Singapore based photographer who has a great perception about Photography. He believes that "the creation of an image does not stop merely with pressing of the shutter button, or pressing the “save as” button in Photoshop." Rather, he goes by his own personal philosophy which is quite impressive.

Shifting my focus to his work, the image (in left) is a part of his 'Exploded Flowers' series where he has disassembled the petals of a flower. His idea of the series is that how much a flower can be expanded when they are dissembled. Well, even I could not really imagine the beauty of a flower when its petals are not together and arranged in a radial symmetry. The artist draws her inspiration partially from Todd McLellan's Disassembly series. Bravo!

The other two series 'Remixing Art, Floral Paintings and Panographies' by Fong Qi Wei are equally artistic which are featured below. Both of them use a very unique concept but before that let's have a look at other images from 'Exploded Flowers':

Remix Art, Floral Paintings

Well, there is so much to talk about each image from this series. It is beautiful and works on even a more beautiful concept. "Whilst doing my Exploded Flowers series, it occurred to me that petals and individual components of flowers are literally individual brush-strokes of nature" is what the artist has to say about this series.

Panographies

Panographies is a form of panoramic photography or wide format photography. The artist's take is different on panographies which he describes as "the myriad little distortions in the images".

Well, that's it for today from Fong Qi's portfolio. Hope you enjoyed all the three series!
