These images can easily be assumed as a photograph taken from a camera, even if someone tells you that these are in fact drawn using a ball point pen, then also you would assume that there has to be some trick involved here. Atleast, I was convinced that there is no way that such a detailed portrait can be 'drawn' and that too using a blue pen. 

But, to my pleasant surprise, I was wrong! Juan Francisco Casas is an artist who can create up to 10ft tall pictures from his Bic pen, inspired by his regular fun night outs with his friends. 


Juan was a painter originally, but in 2004 he participated in an art competition in Spain where he experimented this art form for the first time and bagged second prize. 

"It's a very serious, and academic sort of competition, and I knew they would think my entry was a joke. It was just a normal piece of paper. I had previously done painting - oil on canvas - and this was something new. But they like it, and it went from there." shares the artist.
