Federico Uribe is a Miami based conceptual artist. He makes use of objects that are used in daily life but with a formal reference to history and tradition of classical art. He took formal training in arts from the University of Los Andes in Bogota and then did masters in fine arts under the supervision of Luis Camnitzer. From there, he bagan his artistic journey and worked around the globe in Cuba, Mexico, Russia, England and now settled in Miami.
"I have the hope,” says Uribe, “that people who relate to my sculptures and live with them, will see the love I put into them. I want people to feel that I do this with a lot of careful attention and the purpose of beauty. I give my life to my work and I want people to see it.”
His works are a real treat to eyes and intrigues the viewer about the materials he has used to create them. Lets have a look at some of his mind blowing projects:
