Google has published the first edition of its online magazine: Think Quarterly.

"Think Quarterly is a unique communications tool that brings together some of the world's leading minds to discuss the big issues facing businesses today." describes magazine's Twitter account. Its an interesting project designed and edited for Google by a creative agency in London, The Church Of London.

Here's what Google's Managing Director Matt Brittin (UK & Ireland) has to say about the online magazine:

"At Google, we often think that speed is the forgotten 'killer application' - the ingredient that can differentiate winners from the rest. We know that the faster we deliver results, the more useful people find our service.
But in a world of accelerating change, we all need time to reflect. Think Quarterly is a breathing space in a busy world. It's a place to take time out and consider what's happening and why it matters.
Our first issue is dedicated to Data - amongst a morass of information, how can you find the magic metrics that will help transform your business? We hope that you find inspiration, insights, and more in Think Quarterly."
Here's an outline of some of the articles that you can find in the very first edition of Think Quarterly:

  • An exclusive article on Guy Laurence, CEO of Vodafone UK where he finds cure for data impotence.
  • Google's economist, Hal Varian's article on data obesity and its cure.
  • Ton Fagan, Google's Director of Research poses six questions that every CMO must ask to maximize advertising returns.
  • A visual history of data capture through ages.
  • "Open For Business" an article about open data for open business.
  • An interesting article on online video advertising.

The next issue for Think Quarterly will be published in May, with third issue in July and next one in October.

As far as the design of the magazine is concerned, it is beautiful yet simple with colorful and artistic images, and flipping pages on the screen will remind you that it is a magazine that you're reading...not a blog.
