Hipstamatic is one of the best photo apps for the iPhone. It not only gives funky effects to your photos but blends an antique touch in them. It appears as if the pictures are taken from the old analog cameras of the 70′s and 80′s. The app uses the iPhone's camera and allows the user to take square photographs and a variety of combinations can be applied to the pictures while shooting. Using the software filters, you can give a retro look to your photographs while being in 21st century!
The best part of this app is that it offers a variety of options in terms of flashes, film and lenses. With a single swipe, you can switch between hundreds of flash, film and lens settings. If you try each combination, it can really boggle your mind because there are too many! And trying each combination can be fun but at the same time stupid! The standard equipment includes a few lenses like John S lens, Jimmy lens, Kaimal Mark II lens and more. See all the lenses, flashes and films available for Hipstamatic here.
Without much effort, you can add a fun look to your photographs. Just choose your combination and start taking pictures. You can even change the flashes, film and lenses setting by just shaking your phone. It also enables you to directly share the photographs to Facebook, Flickr and Tumblr or e-mail them. You can view the amazing photographs taken using Hipstamatic at Flickr.
The only dark side of the app is that it cannot be applied to already taken photographs. But only to pictures you are taking live. Well, that would rather be much more fun!
The history of this app goes back to a cheap plastic analog photographic camera, Hipstamatic 100. It was invented in early 1980s by Bruce and Winston Dorbowski but really couldn't make a mark in the market at that time. Hipstamatic app's styling is based on this camera and a major hit among the iPhone users.
The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch (4th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi and iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G and Requires iOS 3.1 or an upgraded one.
The app costs $1.99 in the iTunes store and I guess, it's worth it! So go guys, spice up your pictures and convert your iPhones in art-making machines!
