BottleHood is a team of good people from San Diego who are not only concerned about the environment, but have taken an innovative and creative way to do something about it.

A team of jeweler, weaver and graphic designer came together to repurpose glass bottles that takes more than 4000 years to decompose in the landfill.

"Collective team of neighborhood craftspeople" is what they call themselves.

They create glasses, vases, cheeese trays and even jewelery from discarded beer, wine, liquor, soda and water bottles.

Here's how they describe themselves:

"BottleHood has taken a stand on keeping bottles which have no California Redemption Value (CRV) out of California's landfills or sent overseas to be recycled. In the process, BottleHood procedures a line of uniquely handcrafted tumblers and vases made from bottles whose contents were enjoyed in our neighborhood. We have craftspeople who also share our concerns for the environment to produce our line of glassware.
Created out of a passion to create local jobs, stimulate our local retail economy and help our environment, BottleHood's success is a reflection of neighborhood sentiment and support for what BottleHood stands for...a pride in our neighborhood, our local craftsmen and entrepreneurs, and our social responsibility."

No doubt that they are doing a splendid job by doing their part for the betterment of the environment, while creating wonderful glassware at the same time; which will look perfect in a barbecue party.
