Google has finally decided to release an official Blogger application for Android which allows users to directly use Blogger platform on their smartphones for writing and publishing blog posts.

Although Android Market did have certain applications similar to this, but an official release by Google was much awaited, unlike WordPress that has already released their application for all major smartphones.

This free app was rolled out this week that enables users to either include pictures from their gallery or add pictures directly from their phones and publish them with their posts, one can also add labels and location. Posts can be published immediately or saved as a draft. For those who have multiple accounts with Blogger can easily switch between them.

The app is available in the Android Market for free installation and is described as follows:

"Start Blogging on the go with the official Blogger app!
Experience the official version of the Blogger app.
You can easily publish posts with pictures, labels and location information. Also, you can view the list of posts and if you have multiple accounts or blog, you can easily switch between them.
Blogging on the go is made easy with the Blogger app."
Going through the reviews about this latest application there are two complaints that I found to be common: first, there seem to be a bug when it comes to working on multiple blogs and second, it does not support Google apps accounts.

If you are a Blogger user, then do give it try and let us and other readers know if you are facing the same problem. You can find more Android applications by Google through this link.
