Buffer is a simple system that makes scheduling tweets obsolete. Times are pre-set and all you have to do is fill up your Buffer with tweets. Spend 10 minutes every day on your Buffer account and you will be tweeting for the whole day.

Joel Gascoigne, founder of BufferApp has taken some time out for a guest post for our readers, where he brings detailed insight about Buffer and how one can benefit from it.

Undoubtedly the power of Twitter has increased significantly for businesses in recent years. The service evolved to become a hotspot of great conversations that carry value and most importantly drive traffic to one’s site.

However, whilst running a small business it becomes nearly impossible to spend the whole day on Twitter. Given all other commitments, most people have to settle for a trade-off, limiting their time spent on Twitter. If you are still interested in producing valuable content for your followers throughout the whole day, let me introduce you to a new twitter tool, called Buffer.

By spending just 10 minutes every day on your Buffer account you can easily produce a consistent stream of tweets for your followers. Most importantly you will remain genuine, without automating anything. All you do with Buffer is optimize.

So how does Buffer work?

Buffer is an app to schedule tweets that is significantly different in comparison to the Hootsuites, SocialOomphs and Twaitter scheduling features out there. Instead of scheduling each individual tweet, Buffer gives you an intuitive solution to solve this differently.

All you do is add tweets to your queue in Buffer right from your browser every time you come across interesting content you want to share. If your Buffer is topped up with tweets, it will tweet for you at pre-set times during the day. Of course you are able to adjust these times if you wish.

How do I best use Buffer?

The most frequent use case we observe currently is the following: Whilst people are browsing the web and reading the news in the morning Buffer comes in very handy. Whenever you come across something you like, hit the Buffer icon via the Chrome Extension and it will be added to your queue of tweets in Buffer. You edit the tweet right at that moment or just take the suggested tweet together with the shortened link. Here is how this looks if you come across an interesting site you want to share:

What is the effect of Buffer?

Once you start using Buffer, you will be tweeting consistently: day in, day out. This means your followers receive high-quality updates from you which you have buffered carefully beforehand. Many people have increased their number of followers and have said they have much more engagement with their tweets since using Buffer.

The great thing about Buffer is that on the one hand it helps make sure you don’t overwhelm your followers with tweets whenever you read articles by posting 5 at once. On the other hand, you still craft each tweet yourself in order to create genuine, valuable content for your followers, even when you are not on Twitter.

The final point I personally like very much about Buffer is that treating yourself to a topped up Buffer is something that simply gives you a great feeling of having planned out your timeline on twitter. Lean back and enjoy the tweets go out, the engagement happen, and then just be sure to participate in the great discussions with your followers as a result.

Thank you Joel all the insight on Buffer, we wish you and Bufferapp all the success in the future. :)
