Paul Middlewick spotted an elephant one day on his ride home once...well on London's Underground map and has found more than 30 other animals since then. These animals are created using the tube lines, junctions and stations on the map, and you can find rhinos, dolphins and even Scooby Doo out there.
The concept was quite a success in an advertising campaign to promote London Zoo in 2003, and Paul's subway animals have been to many more campaigns ever since.
Do check out the video attached to learn more about these adorable inhabitants of London commuting system:
"I got the idea when travelling on the Tube. It gets very boring commuting daily on the Underground, and I'd stare at the map as I waited for my train. After a while, I started to see shapes in the tube map, particularly animals. I sketched them down and Animals on the Underground was born. Since then, I have picked out over 20 different animals from the intersecting lines and stations on the map." shares Paul.
