Google eBookstore has finally launched with a massive collection of 3 million titles.
A bookstore that can be carried anywhere, by anyone and in any device. And of course, its Google so it has to be big, therefore its no surprise when they say "You can browse and search through the largest eBooks collection in the world with more than 3 million titles including hundreds and thousands for sale."

So what's in it for authors and publishers?
Well, for starters Google lets you promote your books for free (apart from reading couple of books for free too) with options to drive book sales, help readers find your books through an algorithm that matches your book content with reader's searches and placing your website's link prominently in your book's profile where readers can get a glimpse of what they are about to buy. Currently Google eBookstore is available for customers in U.S. only, but as Abraham Murray (Google books Product Manager) puts it "Our journey has just begun", a digitalized universe of books is on its way.
