At heart we all want to give something back to our community but by the end of the day we simply have no time or energy left for any kind of volunteer work.
This is what Sparked.com, a startup by The Extraordinaries realized and decided to do bring an intelligent solution to this problem. They launched this project to help non-profits through crowd-sourcing skilled volunteers who need to take out little time out of their social networking activities and leverage the some more wonders of internet by volunteering without any geographical barriers.
According to Sparked "Every single day we spend nearly 400 million hours on Facebook and we watch over two billion YouTube videos." further adding "What if we could complete a useful volunteer activity in the same time?"
At Sparked.com anyone can become a micro-volunteer and share their expertise through accepting simple challenges posted by various non-profit organizations. Its all about sharing your skills. Jacob Colker, CEO and co-founder of Sparked believes that the best way to save money is not to spend it and simply find a way that can complete the same task without paying for it. Therefore, non-profits can ask for help from billions of users online rather than hiring expensive consultants or designers.
You can contribute as an individual or as a group and help in wide range of tasks like: Designing logos, designing templates, writing a review, brainstorming new ideas, reviewing job descriptions, giving feedbacks, developing strategies, designing a background image for twitter, ideas that can help in improving their website and many more tasks among which some of them are bound to match your expertise.
