This is a true ROCK radio which lives up to its name visually and musically. Taking you back to the stone age this intriguing gadget is made out of actual cement, and has been literally hammered for improvisation.
Created by Guus Oosterbaan this ROCK radio was initially rectangular in shape but the cement prevented radio waves to penetrate through this gadget in order to make it work, therefore Guus hammers it and voila...it rocks.
Here's how Guus Oosterbaan explains it:
"My ROCK Radio, the number two in my cement-audio-series. It started of being a very nice rectangular brick shape. Then I found out that a thick layer of cement shields the radio from actually receiving radio waves. With my "Now it doesn't work anyway" philosophy, I took a big hammer and created this Flintstones look, and the radio works!"
The left entry is meant for installing a loudspeaker, center one for antenna and right socket is for power. To learn more about the innovator behind it, visit his blog through this link.
