Skype has recently introduced its 5.0 version for Windows with user-friendly features, cleaner interface and easier navigation. But the most significant feature is Skype's integration with Facebook allowing users to SMS, chat and call Facebook friends via Skype; group video calling feature has also been introduced.

Not too long ago there was a lot of speculation about this much talked about integration between social networking giant, Facebook and VoIP (Voice over Internet protocol) leader, Skype to bring together their 500 and 560 million users respectively.

"Few things are better than connecting with friends and family, especially when you are far apart. Skype provides a great way to communicate with people no matter where they are. And starting today, it's also making it easier for you to connect with your Facebook friends." announced Ethan Beard, Director of Facebook Developer Network.

"We're excited to announce a brand new version of Skype for Windows, which will help bring you and your friends, family and co-workers together like never before." shares Rick Osterloh, Skype's head of consumer products, further adding "The essence of the Skype experience is communicating with the people you care about, whether that's your friend who lives on the other side of town or your mom, who lives on the other side of the world."

A new Facebook tab will be visible in Skype through which users can not only directly call their Facebook friends but also check news feed, update status and like posts or articles. If your friend is also your Skype contact, then free Skype-Skype calls can be made The group calling feature will soon be ready to use which will also carry 'automatic call recovery' feature in case here are interruptions due to bad internet connection.
