Launch of Google Instant created a lot of buzz in the internet world, but it seems that its imitation for YouTube, Google Maps, Etsy, Amazon and Google Images is receiving even larger recognition. Why you ask?
Because two lads 'instantly' created similar application as Google Instant and one of them has already been offered a job by Chad Hurley through Twitter to join YouTube.
Feross Aboukhadijeh was challenged by his roommate to create real-time YouTube search, and as a result of bet between two friends YouTube Instant was created in 3 hours. Although Feross lost the bet, because as per the bet he had to create it in one hour, nevertheless he did manage to receive a job offer from YouTube's CEO.
"I built YouTube Instant using a combination of the YouTube API and YouTube search suggestions. I initially ran into some issues when Google automatically blocked my server for making too many repeated requests. However it took me 5 minutes to rewrite the site to query YouTube directly for search suggestions." explains Feross.
Inspired by Feross, Michael Hart an Alabama based developer created Google Maps Instant using jQuery and Google Maps API. And he didn't stop there, he went ahead and created Google Images Instant, Amazon Instant and Etsy Instant; he too is looking for a job.
"By the way, Google, if you're out there...I would love to work for you. You can ask anyone who knows me; it has been a dream of mine for the past few years. And Feross Aboukhadijeh, man, congratulations! If only I was as smart as you ;)." writes Michael on his blog.
