How often do you leave a web page just because all of those irritating and distracting ads running all over your screen?
I love to read interesting articles from industry experts or several blogs written by small business owners; but I find it extremely annoying when an ad pops up in the middle of my reading session. So what do I do?
I use 'Readability', its button that can be added on your Web browser's tool bar. Its a great tool that enables you to read 'only' the article that you like and 'view' the photo related to that article. It eliminates all other ads or clutter floating around on your web page, so that you can very conveniently read anything that you wish; it does a much neater job than Ad blocker. It reminds me of kindle in many ways.
Its a free tool that allows you to personalise style, font or background colour on your screen, just simply choose your preference and add to the toolbar of your Web browser. When you are reading some interesting text, just click on the 'readability' button and its done...just like reading an E-book. If you wish to view the original page, all you have to do is refresh the page.
Now the question is that: How will the websites earn without the ads?
Readability does not remove the ad from your browser, 'coz when you enter a website you will see all those ads, only when you choose a particular article and wish to read it completely, then you can click on this button and when you are done reading it, just refresh the page. That ways you will be seeing the ads and also have an option of getting rid of 'em when you want to do some serious reading. Moreover, Readability lets you view only individual articles and is not designed for home pages.
