For a while I've been pondering over the idea of writing a post about creative playing cards available online, but when I never got around to working on it, mostly because I hardly come across creative playing cards. But when I read about these Hipster Playing Cards, I realized that maybe I should have looked a little harder.

Nevertheless, these fascinating cards are by Seattle-based Ray Thomas who is looking to raise some money through Kickstarter in order to manufacture this product.

"I am creating a deck of playing cards featuring images from hipster culture. I wish I was cool enough to be a hipster myself but I'm not. I did however get a a graphic designer friend to help out and he is legit." shares Thomas in his Kickstarter page, further adding, "I've got several quotes from playing card manufacturers and am looking to do a run for $3,500." There's at least 3 examples of trademark infringement right there. And obviously the definition of 'hipster' has changed radically since I was a kid, since none of these graphics have anything to do with hipsters as I knew them.
